Dr Ngiam graduated from NUS Faculty of Medicine in 2005. She was trained at NUH, and obtained her Master of Medicine, Paediatrics (Singapore) in 2010. She completed her advanced specialist training in 2014. During her advanced training, she worked with the Child Development Unit (CDU) at NUH.
She had an interest in child abuse and neglect, and her previous research on this topic was supported by Singapore Children’s Society. She also spent a month at Stanford University School of Medicine to gain further exposure in developmental-behavioural paediatrics.
Dr Ngiam has a strong interest in medical education and patient education. She strives to empower families to raise happy, resilient children, both in her daily work and as a volunteer with CaringSG and Tzu Chi.
Finally, she is a keen artist whose drawings can be found on the cover of NUH’s handbook ‘Paediatrics On-The-Go’ and in IBCA’s patient education booklets.
