Desmond is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) degree in 2016 and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the National University of Singapore in 2020. He has worked with individuals who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders, grief related difficulties, OCD, personality disorders and interpersonal difficulties.
Desmond has provided psychotherapy incorporating various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches to clients in local hospitals and private healthcare settings. Desmond previously worked in mental health settings in the United States and Hong Kong, and is trained to provide psychometric assessments such as IQ and ADHD assessments.
By providing clients with a safe and non-judgemental space, Desmond believes in collaboratively developing a course of action to meet his client’s needs in addition to fostering a working therapeutic connection that empowers clients to move toward living meaningful lives.
